About the Practice
Laborde Dermatology is a comprehensive Dermatology practice located in the Uptown/ Galleria area of Houston, Texas that specializes in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology. The office features light-filled examination rooms with beautiful views overlooking Memorial Park. The practice utilizes the most advanced technologies combined with detailed attention to patient care. The practice is under the direction of Stephen Van Laborde, M.D. who is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and fellowship trained in Laser Surgery, Cosmetic Dermatology, and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Laborde’s practice offers Botox® for the treatment of facial wrinkles and excessive sweating, filling agents such as Juvederm® and Restylane® for wrinkle correction and lip augmentation, and sclerotherapy for the treatment of unwanted leg veins. A broad range of laser procedures for vascular birthmarks, facial redness, rosacea, brown sunspots, hair removal, acne, acne scarring, tattoo removal, and photoaging are also offered. In addition, minimal to no downtime cosmetic procedures such as antioxidant/glycolic peels and microdermabrasion are available for patients.
Dr. Laborde’s Credentials
Stephen Van Laborde, M.D., originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, received his undergraduate degree in English literature with distinction from Stanford University. He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine where he was the recipient of the Isadore Dyer Valedictory Memorial Prize. After an internship in Internal Medicine at Tulane University, he completed his Dermatology residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and served as Chief Resident. Afterwards, Dr. Laborde gained fellowship training in Laser Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology from Harvard and Yale University faculty in Boston at SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill.
Dr. Laborde is recognized for his expertise in the treatment of facial wrinkles with Botox®. He is a national Botox® trainer for other physicians and a member of the National Education Faculty for Botox Cosmetic®. Dr. Laborde is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He has staff privileges at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital of Houston and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital of Houston. In addition to serving on various national committees, he is published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national meetings. Dr. Laborde has been listed as one of Houston’s Top Docs by H magazine.
Dr. Laborde is a member of the following national and local societies: American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc., Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, and Houston Dermatological Society.
