Breakthrough New Technologies
The Fraxel® laser is an exciting new development in the field of laser skin rejuvenation. This device introduces the concept of fractional resurfacing. With this new technology, patients can achieve significant improvement in skin tone, texture, color, and wrinkles without prolonged downtime. In addition, the Fraxel® laser is superb at improving acne scars and uneven pigmentation.
Juvederm is the newest filler in the field of facial volume restoration. This filler beautifully corrects facial folds and under eye hollows and restores the contour of the lips, cheekbones and jawline. With improvement that can last up to 12 months, Juvederm treatments have become increasingly popular. Dr. Laborde was one of the first physicians to offer patients the experience of Juvederm with his participation in the Juvederm Experience Trial.
Update on the Risks of Indoor Tanning
The US Department of Health and Human Services has declared ultraviolet radiation from the sun and tanning lamps to be cancer causing. As tanning lamps emit far more radiation than the sun, they present significant risks for patients. There is strong evidence that exposure to indoor tanning increases the risk of developing melanoma, a fatal form of skin cancer.
Seminars
Dr. Laborde recently gave an in-office seminar featuring the presentation:
The Sun and Your Skin.
Attendees learned about the various forms of skin cancer, skin cancer prevention, and techniques to improve sun-damaged skin. The evening featured expert recommendations on sun protection, Glo-Minerals make up selection and application, and a live Botox treatment demonstration.

Dr. Laborde routinely gives lectures throughout the Houston community on the signs of skin cancer and the importance of sun protection. He lectures throughout the nation on the treatments of acne and acne scarring.
